Pioneer Car Audio Systems

Pioneer's Mobile Business Group is known for offering the kind of in-car products that make driving more enjoyable by offering high quality audio and video, seamless connectivity and ease-of-use. Its focus is on the development of new digital technologies including audio video, navigation and satellite radio, while maintaining its strong heritage in products for car audio enthusiasts and sound competitors.

Front USB and auxiliary inputs.

Intuitive controls like the seven-way rotary commander.

DEH-6200BT Features

Fed up with your Bluetooth headset? Here's a better hands-free solution.
Enjoy the convenience of having Bluetooth built right into the unit, with no additional hands free car kits or other accessories needed. The unit acts like a speakerphone, channeling the sound through your car speakers which makes the call sound better. It also automatically mutes your music so that you'll never miss a call.

CD-R/RW Playback
Play back your favorite CDs and burnt CD-R/RW discs in the slot-loading CD player.

MP3/WMA/AAC Playback
Don't let your favorite music downloads languish on your computer hard drive. Burn them to a CD-R or CD-RW and play them right on the car stereo. Enjoy hours of your favorite tunes MP3, WMA, and AAC audio content.

You can also just throw some files on a USB thumb drive and insert it directly in the front panel USB input.

iPod Made Easy
It's easy! Simply plug your iPod directly into the unit using the optional CD-IU50 iPod cable, and you are ready to rock and roll. Listening to an artist that you just can't get enough of? Now you can hold the "List" button down and it will pop up folders containing that specific artist, album, or genre. You can also have your passenger control your music directly from the iPod.

Connect, Tag, and Download
Have you ever heard a great song on the radio, but couldn't remember what it was called or who sang it when you went to go look for it later? Now you don't have to worry about missing out on great music. iTunes Tagging gives you the power to "tag" all of your favorite songs without having to scramble for a piece of scrap paper in the car, then later preview or purchase music at iTunes Music Store.

A better way to control your music
Sick of using buttons to search through your songs? Now you can scroll through your music with greater ease using the 7-way rotary commander.

Bring Your Music to Life with Advanced Sound Retriever
This year you can hear the detail, warmth, and clarity the way the artist intended it, from all of the highly compressed MP3, WMA and AAC files playing on your CD player. By restoring data that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, we can make your music sound close to CD quality.

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner
Pioneer's legendary Supertuner IIID combines the best of digital and analog tuner technologies to reduce distortion to bring you exceptional FM and AM performance. If you live in an area where reception is weak, you'll hear a big improvement in signal strength. And when you're near tall buildings, Supertuner IIID reduces the effect of multi-path noise, which occurs when the signal is reflecting off of the buildings.

MOSFET 50W x4 Amplifier for the Power Hungry
Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, delivering power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. And that doesn't just mean a boost in volume: it means that your music will be cleaner at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. Clean, efficient power that will rock your vehicle.

The DEH-6200BT is also ready for expansion, with two sets of 2V RCA preamp outputs (front, rear/subwoofer) for system expansion with external amps/speakers, and a two-way crossover with separate high and low pass settings.

Get Plugged In
Use the built-in AUX input for connecting any digital portable player and other external auxiliary devices. For extra-convenient access, the input is on the front panel.

Dial In Your Sound
Tweak the sound to your liking with the on-board five-band graphic EQ. A Loudness feature ensures ample low-end even during quiet listening, and standard balance/fader controls let you adjust the stereo image to suit your vehicle and preferences.

4 out of 5 stars Great deck for the price!   August 16, 2010
Michael R. Brumback (Sacramento, CA)
I left my pro's and con's as a comment in Turbo's review because he summed up 90% of what I was going to say (props to Turbo) so I just added my 2-cents. I really love this deck and it's at 4 and a half stars for me. The other half is just minor annoyances that I have with EVERY head unit I've ever purchased so I'm not sure anything would ever get a full 5 stars besides my old Pioneer DEH-P815 I owned for YEARS and wish I never let go with the car when I sold it all together. Pioneer just seems to always meet what I'm looking for at every price point I've fallen on. I wanted something with BT, hi-volt w/ sub preamp outputs, USB and AUX front inputs, and a standard face without all of the goofy animations on the screen. I failed to mention in my previous comment that I wish it had a few more RMS watts as well for when I was waiting on my amps to come in and just using the speaker outputs. I'm on a budget and also bought my OEM replacement speakers as well (Rockford Fosgate Prime) with this deck. Had to turn on the HPF to 50 and 63Hz because just not enough power to keep the speakers from distorting at high volumes. Did the trick. The amp fixed this as well obviously. I can't give a feedback for Amazon for this purchase because I got such a great deal on this deck and speakers at my local high end car audio shop-Paradyme Sound & Vision-(I know them well & used to work there too) that I didn't buy from/thru Amazon. However, I do buy most of my online purchases thru Amazon and I love the conveniences and always give great feedback in that dept.

In conclusion, you want a deck PACKED with features at a reasonable and economic price, look no further than this Pioneer. Get the remote for $10-$20 bucks though and if you don't want amps get some factory replacement speakers with lower RMS wattage ratings and you'll be happy for years.

4 out of 5 stars Very nice with a few flaws...   August 6, 2010

Really like my Pioneer stereo yet there are a few issues that I really don't like.

* Red? Looks nice in the dark but for me difficult to see during the day. The phone icon that tells you that your phone is connected via bluetooth is really bad, unless it is dark.

* Adjusting volume control is tricky... the center control knob is low profile so it does not feel effortless to adjust volume or settings.

* Not sure if it has something to do with the iOS 4 update but now my phone is hit and miss if it will charge by the radio. No issues on the audio coming across the usb cable. Don't see where you can use bluetooth to stream audio, yet works fine with the phone.

* Wish they would have provided an USB port in the back... would love to run the cable from the back of the unit for iPod controls and use the front for usb keys or something like that.

* I like to listen to talk radio on the AM dial yet I have to switch through 3 banks of FM to get to AM. Why can't I disable the extra banks of FM that I'm not ever going to use?

* Sounds great yet it has tons or setting which take a while to tweak... hate the graphic equalizer... nothing but numbers... I'm a visual person... like to see all of the bands at once for that visual picture. All you will get is the band frequency and +/- numbers.

Overall I'm happy with the product but don't think I would choose this model due to my list above... Don't get me wrong, it still a good unit... just needs a few changes for me.

4 out of 5 stars Almost perfect.   July 12, 2010

This is an awesome performing stereo. The only issue is the multi control is a little too sensitive and doesn't stick out far enough, so you sometimes don't get the command you are after while driving.

A welcome feature which is absent on so many stereo's these days is the good 'ol 6 station presets across the bottom of the front panel.

4 out of 5 stars Still a GREAT unit for the price!!   June 25, 2010
Lancaster (Norfolk, VA USA)
I have to say that I agree with others in that this unit does not support "Audio Streaming / A2DP" over bluetooth. It also does not support iPhone voice commands unless you push and hold the home button on the phone, but because it does allows you to program speed dialing and the drawing in of the address book it makes for a ok workaround. The USB functionality with iPhone 3GS works just fine with iOS4 upgrade from Apple. And Pairing the unit to the phone was a snap compared to other head units. The sound/ phone quality is excellent, along with my Pioneer TS-A1673R 6.5in 3-Way Car Speakers working perfectly together! All in all I'm very pleased with this purchase. One more thing, Amazon states that the speakers (TS-A1673R) aren't compatible with a Subaru 2004 Outback wagon but they fix just fine.

3 out of 5 stars Not what I expected   June 22, 2010
Beno (Naperville, IL USA)
Purchased this product based on feature set of previous model year only to find that it was lacking some features. This unit does not support "Audio Streaming / A2DP" over bluetooth. It also does not support iPhone voice commands unless you push and hold the home button on the phone. Finally, USB functionality with iPhone 3GS stopped working with iOS4 upgrade from Apple.

This receiver sounds good but the controls and setup are not intuitive at all. Also, in agreement with others, the main control button and volume control is not very friendly to use so I will be getting a steering wheel remote. I wish I would have purchased a Kenwood at this point.
